The Story Behind The Name
Whether gardening or cooking it comes from her heart.
Most gardeners despise rocks in their gardens, Diane Weidinger doesn't mind them, especially when they resemble hearts. As a collector of heart shaped rocks for over 30 years she was amazed at the number unearthed when she planted her hillside garden. So many were found that she and husband Phil named their Lake Tahoe property, Heart Rock Ridge. It was only natural and fitting that her new company be named Heart Rock Herb & Spice Co.
Diane seems to find them everywhere she travels, whether it's hiking the Sierra Nevada Mountains,
walking on a beach in the Caribbean or taking in a
round of golf. In fact, Phil received the one to the
right as a Valentine present one year. It came from Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, with permission from
the grounds superintendent of course! The wire frame is almost a perfect fit. It greets visitors to their home.
The one to the left was given to Diane by a fellow Master Gardener and Thunderbird Gardener, it's almost a perfect heart shape.

Diane Weidinger has pledged to donate 10% yearly net profits between two
non-profit organizations where she volunteers her time; a food program that
feeds the less fortunate of South Lake Tahoe called Bread & Broth, where she
serves as one of the many volunteer cooks as well as the program Director, and
the historic George Whittell Thunderbird Lodge where she's a Master Gardener
and the Garden Coordinator .
